Tommy L. Gladney, Jr. - Lead Band Director/Fine Arts Director

Tommy Gladney, a native of Birmingham, AL is a graduate of Alcorn State University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. He has taught band at both the middle and high school levels in Shreveport, LA; Lake Charles, LA and Beaumont ISD for the last 20+ years. He is a member of Texas Music Educators Association, Association of Texas Small School Bands, Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity and Fellowship of Christian Musicians. He is also an ordained Minister of the Gospel and Minister of Music at the Greater St. Mary MBC of Lake Charles, LA.

 

Jeran King - Assistant Director

Jeran King is a WO-S product with a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Prairie View A&M University with a concentration in Percussion. His desire was to return home to be an educator where he serves as the Band Director at WO-S Middle School and Assistant Director at WO-S High School. His duties also include Percussion Instructor and Basketball Pep Band Director.

 

Margan Ferguson - Prancing Divine Sponsor/Dance Instructor

Ms. Margan Ferguson is a native of Orange, Tx and is joining M3 Band this year as the sponsor for Prancing Divine Dance Team. She is a graduate of Lamar University where she was a member of the LU Dance Team. She began her dance career at a young age and has gained years of dance experience through studio, competitive, and collegiate dance and professional teaching/coaching. In addition to her passion for dance she enjoys fashion, traveling, and DIY projects. She is very excited to be returning to her alma matter as a coach and teacher and is looking forward to making a great impact through dance. 

 

Ebony Green - Fabulous Flags Sponsor

Ebony Green is a 2001 graduate of West Orange-Stark High School. While in high school, Ebony was a member of the band. As a result of her hard work, dedication, and great leadership skills, during her senior year she was named the co-captain of the Color Guard team. After high school, she attended Prairie View A&M University. Her love of participating in the marching band continued, but this time in a different capacity as a proud member of Prairie View’s Marching Storm Flag team. She has been employed with West Orange-Cove CISD since 2014 as the MS nurse. During this time, she received her associate degree in liberal arts at Lamar State College-Orange. Ebony is caring, compassionate, and dedicated to the health of the students at West Orange-Stark Middle School. Whether it is in the clinic bridging healthcare and education or getting the Fabulous Flags ready for Friday night lights, Ebony loves giving back to her alma mater.

 

Evi Smith - Band Camp Strength/Conditioning Coach (Volunteer)

Evi D. Smith was born in Houston, TX and grew up in Orange, TX. She attended WOSHS and is a graduating member of the class of 2003. She later attended Lamar University in Beaumont and graduated with her Associates in Applied Science in Kinesiology. Due to Hurricane Rita, she later finished her extended education at U of H where she received her Bachelors in Fine Arts & Music Theory. Ms. Smith began her weight loss journey in 2015 when she found out she weighed over 302 lbs and doctors told her she was type 2 diabetic and needed to change her life for the better. At this time, she decided she needed to take control of her health. After months of changing her eating habits and slight exercise when time permitted, this became a lifestyle change and soon a career change. By the end of 2016, she became a NASM CPT while transitioning from physical therapy to the gym life and working for an Anytime Fitness franchise. She then gained a strong clientele of men and women of all ages who sought out her different approach to fitness and natural weight loss goals. Ms. Smith has since competed in a several bikini competitions and recently won trainer of the year for 2019 & 2021. Her future plan is to open her own gym and continue to educate others on the importance of healthy living.
