Welcome to Journalism!

Hello Mustangs!

My name is Mrs. Mallory Monteiro, and I couldn’t be more excited to be teaching Journalism and College Prep English here at WOS! It’s an honor to be part of this incredible team, and I’m ready to jump into what promises to be an exciting, productive, and unforgettable year with all of you.

I’m a proud graduate of Lamar University, where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in History with a minor in English.

Beyond my teaching role, I have the privilege of coaching our UIL Journalism team—a group of talented writers ready to tackle News Writing, Feature Writing, Editorials, and everything in between. I’m passionate about helping students discover the power of their words and craft stories that make an impact.

I also serve as the yearbook sponsor, working with our talented team to capture the memories and milestones that make our school truly special.

If you ever need to reach me, feel free to email me at [email protected] or call the school at 409-882-5570. Whether it’s brainstorming ideas or conquering the art of punctuation, we’re going to make this year an absolute success!

Whether you dream of breaking news stories, creating compelling features, or mastering digital media, this course is your gateway to the world of storytelling, creativity, and communication. Let’s make every word count!
