RUSTY LANICEK - CTE TEACHER, INTERACTIVE MEDIA
Hello! I'm Rusty Lanicek, and I'm thrilled to be entering my fourth year of teaching at West Orange-Stark High School.
A bit about me: I proudly served on active duty in the U.S. Army for 12 years and graduated as the Valedictorian from Living Arts College with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts - Interactive Media. With 20 years of experience in professional communications, design and media, I have had the opportunity to work with studios and clientele from all over the world. As a proud alumnus of WOS, Class of 2004, I had the privilege of being in the first media class offered at WOSHS, taught by Lacey Hale. Now, I have taken the reigns of the program and plan to take it as far as I can and beyond. I also enjoy being the Co-Sponsor of the WOSHS Student Council, the Coach for UIL Film, and the Media-Director of the Mustang Broadcasting Network, which is treated as a professional studio.

When I'm not teaching, you can find me exploring my passions for art and music, enjoying the great outdoors through camping, traveling, and savoring new culinary experiences. My teaching philosophy blends perennialism, essentialism, and constructivism, aiming to create an engaging learning environment for my students. I also walk in faith in JESUS and read the Bible daily, which inspires me in both my personal and professional life.
I look forward to another fantastic year of learning and growth together!
